Open Hold Notice Log: Click on this button to view all Hold Notice's.
Add New Hold Notice: Click on this button to add a new Hold Notice.
Search By Hold Notice Number: Click on this button to search or edit Hold Notice.
MRB Switchboard: Click on this button to open MRB Main Menu.
Reports Switchboard: Click on this button to open Reports Switchboard.
Hold Notice Tables Switchboard: Click on this button to open Hold Notice Tables.

Open Hold Notice Log

Open Hold Notice Log: This is an example of the form you will see when you open the Open Hold Notice Log. This should be used for viewing only. Do Not edit any information here. You should never edit the Hold Notice # on the forms. This is automatically entered as you add a new Hold Notice. It is controlled by the ID field above the Hold Notice #. They should always be the same. This will eliminate the chance for duplicate Hold Notice numbers.

Click on the Red X on the top right hand corner of the form to close this form.

Add New Hold Notice

Add New Hold Notice: This is an example of the form you will see when you open the Add New Hold Notice. When adding a new Hold Notice, click on Line Hold if the part came from inside your facility. If it is a purchased part coming in and has not been accepted to stock yet leave un-checked. Then click on Manufactured, Purchased or Engineering to check mark the appropriate box for what type of Hold Notice you have.

Next enter your Part Number and the Description will be automatically populated with the Description.

Enter Revision level. (Rev)

The Date field is automatically populated with the current date.

Enter your Mo or PO.
Enter your Quantity Processed.
Enter your Order Quantity.
Enter your Sample Quantity.
Enter your Quantity On Hold.
From the drop-down arrow choose the Material Location.
From the drop-down arrow choose the Area.
From the drop-down arrow choose the Cause.
From the drop-down arrow choose the Problem.
Enter your Supplier Number and the Approved Supplier List box is automatically populated with your Supplier's Name.

From the drop-down arrow choose the Inspector.

Enter your Reason For Hold.

At this point you will be able to click on the Print Hold Notice button and send this information to the printer that has your pre-printed Hold Notice form. The information is then printed on your Hold Notice form.

Click on the Red X on the top right hand corner of the form to close this form.

Search By Hold Notice Number

Search By Hold Notice Number: Click on this button to search for a specific Hold Notice number. Use for editing or updating a Hold Notice. You should never edit the Hold Notice # on the forms. This is automatically entered as you add a new Hold Notice. It is controlled by the ID field above the Hold Notice #. They should always be the same. This will eliminate the chance for duplicate Hold Notice numbers.

Open MRB Log: Click on this button to view all MRB records.
Search MRB By Hold Notice Number: Click on this button to search / edit MRB record
View C/A Follow-Up By Date: Click on this button and enter due date of C/A.
Verified Corrective Action: Click on this button and enter start date and end date.
Corrective Action Effective: Click on this button and enter start date and end date.
Hold Notice Switchboard: Click on this button to open Hold Notice Switchboard.
Reports Switchboard: Click on this button to open Reports Switchboard.
Exit Program: Click on this button to Exit Program.

Open MRB Log

Open MRB Log: This is an example of the form you will see when you open the Open MRB Log.

Notice the Issued Date, Hold Notice Number, Part Number, Revision, Description and type of Hold Notice (Manufactured, Purchasing and Engineering) is already populated from the Hold Notice you wrote.

Search MRB By Hold Notice Number

Search By Hold Notice Number: Click on this button to search for a specific Hold Notice number. Use for editing or updating a MRB. You should never edit the Hold Notice # on the forms. Search Opens MRB Log

Use this when the Hold Notice comes back to the Quality Assurance Department to fill in the information into the MRB database.

From the drop-down arrow choose the Disposition on parts.
From the drop-down arrow choose who the MRB is Issued To.
Enter the Date the Hold Notice was closed.
Enter Corrective Action Date (C/A Date).
From the drop-down arrow choose Yes and enter Extension Date if C/A needed extended.
From the drop-down arrow choose Yes when you can verify C/A.
From the drop-down arrow choose Yes when you can prove C/A was effective.
From the drop-down arrow choose the type of Change for C/A. (part or drawing)
From the drop-down arrow choose the Responsible Area for C/A.
From the drop-down arrow choose the Comments.

In the above example the parts were signed off to Return. So you will need to go back to the Hold Notice Switchboard and click on
Search By Hold Notice Number: Enter the Hold Notice number. You can see that the Disposition from the MRB database filled in the Disposition on the Hold Notice.


Enter the person’s name in the Taken By field and enter the Date Taken. Only do this when the disposition is completed and the parts are leaving the QA Hold Area. Then you know who and when the parts were taken from the QA area.

Click on the Red X on the top right hand corner of the form to close this form.

View C/A Follow-Up By Date

View C/A Follow-Up By Date: This is the entry box to Enter Due Date for C/A.

This report is showing C/A Date 11/01/2005 on Hold # 1 is past due.

This report will list all Hold Notice’s that the Corrective Action has not been completed by the date you entered.

Verified Corrective Action

Verified Corrective Action: This is the entry box to Enter Start Date for C/A.

Verified Corrective Action: This is the entry box to Enter End Date for C/A.

Notice the VER box is checked showing the corrective action was Verified.

Corrective Action Effective

Corrective Action Effective: This is the entry box to Enter Start Date for C/A.

Corrective Action Effective: This is the entry box to Enter End Date for C/A.

Notice the C/A box is checked showing the corrective action was Effective.

So you can Verify C/A and you can see if the C/A was Effective. This is the button to click when the ISO auditors say; "can I see some proof of your C/A Effectiveness"

Print Active Hold Notice Log: Click on this button to print a log of Hold Notice’s that are still open.

Print Manufacturing Hold Notice Codes: Print list of Hold Notice’s charged to Manufacturing
Print Purchasing Hold Notice Codes: Print list of Hold Notice’s charged to Purchasing
The Print Engineering, Manufacturing and Purchasing Hold Notice Codes above will display Reports in the format below:

Reports For Line Hold Notice’s: Opens this form to Report Line Hold Notice’s in various ways. It will depend on your computer settings if the calendars show up on this for. If not just enter your Start Date and End Date. Use this format for entering the dates: 11/01/05.

After you have selected or entered dates click on the Line Hold Notice Report you need.

Exit Program: Click on this button to Exit Program.

From the Hold Notice Switchboard you have two more options.

Hold Notice Tables Switchboard

Hold Notice Tables Switchboard: Click on this button to open Hold Notice Tables. (shown above)

This is where you will keep the tables up to date. Add Part Numbers, Area Codes, Cause Codes, Problem Codes, Supplier Information and Material Location. This should be used to add and not edit. Keep in mind if you have a Hold Notice already issued and you go and change the information in the above tables, you just changed all the information on that item. Add and don’t edit the tables.

MRB Tables Switchboard

MRB Tables Switchboard: Click on this button to open MRB Tables (shown above)

This is where you will keep the tables up to date. Add Inspector’s, Type Of Disposition, Issue To Names, Type Of Change, Responsible Area and Comments. This should be used to add and not edit. Keep in mind if you have a Hold Notice already issued and you go and change the information in the above tables, you just changed all the information on that item. Add and don’t edit the tables.
